Branding Your Site

12twenty provides you with a platform that allows you to include your branding through a custom site name, acronym, colors, and images. We suggest branding your site before you launch, For more information on branding your site, please see this article!

Setting Up Student Groups

Setting up Student Groups is essential for platforms that have purchased the Career Services Management module. Student Groups act as controllers throughout the site. For more information on setting up Student Groups, please see this article. We recommend setting up at least two student Groups before you upload your students. For example, you can add "Current Students" and "Alumni" to your platform and use the "Student Group" column in your Data Upload template to assign students to the appropriate group. You can always make changes to the Student Group with a bulk update later on.

Updating Help & Support Contact Us Button

Updating the Help & Support Contact Us Button can help students and employers connect with your Career Center if they need assistance on the platform. Additionally, if an employer or student reaches out to support@12twenty.com and their issue requires further resolution from your team, we can send them this email so that they can connect with your team directly.

To update this information, please go to Site Management > Site Settings > General > Contact Information > Edit

You will have to select from the existing Admin Users on your platform. We typically recommend creating an Admin User with a generic "catch-all" email address so that inquires are directed to your whole team and can be addressed promptly.

Announcements

Before launching your site, we suggest setting up a few announcements for your users. You can set up Announcements for Admins, Employers, and Students. For more information on setting up Announcements, please see this article!  You can leverage announcements to share exciting new updates, welcome users to the platform, or give them special instructions!

Review Notifications

As an admin, you are in control of your 12twenty platform. The "Notifications" menu will show you all of the pending approvals your team has to make, and these approvals can pile up quickly! We suggest staying on top of the approval notifications on the 12twenty platform.

Email Templates

You can create Email Templates for your Students and Contacts to make it easier to send communication in bulk! We suggest creating a "Launch" email template for Students and Contacts to extend an invite for them to access the site for the first time. For more information about creating an Email Template, please see this article

Create Test Users

We encourage you to set up a test Student and test Contact (Employer User) so that you can log in as them and see things from their perspective. This helps demystify the Student and Employer User experience, helping your team tackle questions from users when they arise!

Please Note: To create a test contact, you will also have to "Sign Up" as the employer using the /hire URL. You can add a test company for your Career Center, such as "Prestigious University Career Center" and assign your Contact to this new company!

For more information on signing up for an Employer User account, please see this article

Policy Updates

12twenty can add a Student Sign-Up Policy, Employer Sign-Up Policy, and Hiring Non-Discrimination Policy to your site for you!

  • Student Sign-Up Policy
    • This policy is shown to students when they sign up for the platform. Please provide a URL to your Student Sign-Up policy to the support team via the 12twenty Academy or reach out to your Onboarding Manager.
  • Employer Sign-Up Policy
    • This policy is shown to employers when they sign up for the platform. Please provide a URL to your Employer Sign-Up policy to the support team via the 12twenty Academy or reach out to your Onboarding Manager.
  • Hiring Non-Discrimination Policy
    • This policy is shown to employers when they post a job on your platform and when they post a job from employer.12twenty.com. Please provide the Hiring Non-Discrimination Policy as text. You can send your Hiring Non-Discrimination policy to the support team via the 12twenty Academy or reach out to your Onboarding Manager.

Setting up Attribute Survey on Login

Do you have profile attributes you wish to collect from students? Don't miss out on the opportunity to collect this information from them when they log in by configuring Attribute Survey on login! You can set this up by going to Site Management > Site Settings > Students & Alumni > Login > + New

For more details on setting up Survey on Login for Attributes, please see this article!

Pro-Tip: Start collecting "Non-School Email Address" now. If you plan to leverage Alumni services in our platform, this is a great way to collect this information from current students so that you are prepared to send out communication to them when their School email is no longer available!

Introducing 12twenty to Career Center Team, Faculty, and Staff

Now that you're about to launch 12twenty, you may want to share more information about the platform with your Career Center Team, Faculty, or Staff who weren't involved in the Onboarding Process. You can customize this resource to introduce your team to 12twenty! It includes information on how 12twenty benefits students and alumni, and ways to engage the student community within the platform. For further assistance with this presentation, contact the support team via the 12twenty Academy or reach out to your Onboarding Manager.

When you're ready to e-mail students about your site launch, follow these instructions to batch message all students about logging in:

  • Navigate to Students & Alumni on the left side panel of your site
  • If you want to select a subset of your overall population, use the filters across the top of the page to customize who will receive the message
  • Click the 3 dots at the top right corner of the page and select "Message All"

  • Create the message you want to send for the launch email
  • Make sure to include the URL to the student login portal (i.e University.12twenty.com)
  • Send the email and the launch is completed!
