How do I find and fix an outlier in the data?

There will be times when an erroneous data point gets mistakenly added by a student or career adviser that skews the data. For example, if a student enters a salary of $90,000 per month (instead of per year), data may become skewed.

To search for erroneous data:

  1. Navigate to the Data Validation page by clicking Notifications in the left-hand navigation panel, and selecting Outcomes

  2. Select the Approved Jobs/Job Offers tab, and utilize the Outliers Filter to search by the Top and Bottom 10% of all salaries or Other Industries and select Get Results

  3. If any erroneous data point appears in the results below you can email the student, view their profile, or you can edit the salary information on behalf of the student by selecting Edit
