Why are students classified as “Employment Status Unknown”?

There are several reasons a student may be classified as Employment Status Unknown. If students are listed as such, check the student's outcome survey for the following:

Students without an outcome are classified as unknown.

  • Tip: To identify these students use the Student Directory to filter for "Post Grad Reported Outcome = No Reported Outcomes/All"

Students who have a "No Information Available" outcome status are classified as unknown.

  • Tip: To identify these students use the Student Directory to filter for "Post Grad Reported Outcome = No Reported Outcomes/No Recent Information Available."

Students who have identified themselves as "Enrolled in Graduate Studies" with a start date after March 15 of the year after their graduation will be classified as Employment Status Unknown.

  • Tip: To identify these students use the "Custom Outcome Report" and filter for "Outcome Type" = Continuing Education and include Start Date as a column in the report.

An employed student who has a NULL start date (i.e. start date field is blank on the student’s outcome) will be classified as Employment Status Unknown.

  • Tip: To identify these students use the "Custom Outcome Report" to filter for "Outcome Type" = Job and Offer Status = Accepted, and include Start Date as a column in the report. You can export the report to filter the Start Date column for blank values.
