Engagement Directory

The 12twenty Engagement Directory gives Students and Alumni access to the school's existing Student & Alumni Directory, allowing users the ability to connect with their peers, find mentors, and network.

Managing Attribute Visibility in the Engagement Directory

Once the Student and Alumni Engagement Directory has been enabled for your site, School Administrators will see a new 'Shared' toggle appear under the 'Permissions and Visibility' section of attribute configuration settings.

Note: The ‘Shared’ on/off toggle is only available for attributes tied to the Student/Alumni profiles and the Outcome Survey.

When ‘Shared’ is toggled to ‘On' for one of these attributes it will be made visible to Student/Alumni users when viewing Shared profiles and outcomes within the Engagement Directory.

Both standard and custom attributes can be toggled to be “Shared” on Student/Alumni profiles and Outcomes. 

12twenty Pro-Tip #1: Creating these attributes before adding on the Engagement Directory module will allow schools to capture the desired information even before the module is added!

12twenty Pro-Tip #2: After configuring the sharing settings for the attributes on the user profile and Outcome Survey, admins can take advantage of 12twenty’s Survey on Login for Attributes functionality, to capture new profile information as needed.

Enabling the Engagement Directory

Once all attributes have been updated, the school Admin can email Onboarding@12twenty.com to enable the Engagement Directory for the desired population of students.

Please note: “Share with Network” needs to be enabled when the Student & Alumni engagement directory is turned on for the blue banner to show.

The Engagement Directory can be enabled for Students, Alumni, or both. If enabled for both groups, all users will have access to both current Students as well as Alumni.


 

Student and Alumni Engagement Directory User Experience

Once enabled, Students/Alumni will have the option to share their Outcome information with their peers before submitting it for approval.  

Students/Alumni can take advantage of the available filters within the Directory, view profiles, and message users directly from 12twenty! Please note, the recipient’s contact information will not be visible until the recipient replies to the sender.

Opting out of the Engagement Directory

If, at any time, a user would like to opt out of being included in the Engagement Directory, they can do so by updating their Account Settings. 

  1. First, the student must click on their name in the bottom-left corner of the page, then click on Account Settings:

     
  2. From here, click "Edit" under the "Connections" section of the page:


     
  3. Students may see other options here depending on what modules are enabled on your site, but the one they need to toggle from "yes" to "no" is "I want to be included in the Student & Alumni Directory" to opt out of this feature:


     

 

Email Notification Templates

Admins can update the Email Notification that is sent when a student sends an email via the Connect button in the Engagement Directory. To access this template, visit Site Settings > General > Notifications and find "Email between Students/Alumni." 

To edit the Template, click the three action dots and choose Edit from the dropdown menu.

 


Frequently Asked Questions

Why do some of my students show as "Shared" on their Profile while others are "Partially Shared" or "Not Shared?"
A student who is included in the Student and Alumni Engagement Directory but has opted out of Candidate Search (Allowing employers to contact them) and vis versa will show as "Partially Shared."


Students only show as "Shared" when they are opted into both the Engagement Directory and Candidate Search:
