Overview & Benefits
The Judge Directory is a new, integrated feature that allows law school career centers to track judges as employers. Judges are now managed as a dedicated Employer Type within the Employer Directory, providing schools with a consistent, streamlined way to manage judge profiles and associated data.
By bringing judges into the Employer Directory, institutions benefit from:
A centralized place to manage all employer types, including judges
Custom attribute support tailored to judges
Simplified reporting using employer-based data
Streamlined workflows for clerkship outcome entry and evaluation
Note: With this change, your previous judge records have already been extracted from your existing clerkship outcome data and converted into employer records, with no manual action required from your team.
Accessing & Creating Judges
Judges are now located in the Employer Directory under a dedicated Judges tab. This view automatically filters for all employer profiles where Employer Type = Judge.
Adding a New Judge
To create a new judge profile:
Navigate to the Employer Directory
Click the + Add Employer button in the top right corner
Fill out the employer profile form and set the Employer Type to Judge
When you set Employer Type = Judge, the following additional fields become available:

Court Level
Address
Salutation (customizable picklist)

Once created, a grey “JUDGE” badge is displayed on the profile to distinguish judge records.

To convert a standard employer to a judge:

Change the Employer Type to Judge
Once set, the judge-specific fields mentioned above and the Evaluations tab will become available on the profile.
Creating Custom Attributes for Judges
Your team can now create and configure custom judge-specific attributes on the Employer profile.
Steps:
Navigate to Site Management > Site Settings > Employer Relations
Use the ellipsis menu in the desired section to Add New Attribute
Assign the Type Association to "Judge".This ensures the attribute appears only on profiles where Employer Type = Judge.
Bulk Uploading Judges
Using the Data Upload Tool, admins can bulk add or update judges using the Employers template.
The template now includes an Employer Type column
Accepted values for Employer Type are Standard and Judge
If left blank in the template, the default type will be Standard
Clerkship Outcomes
Outcomes
The Clerkship Outcome survey now includes a Judge field, which pulls directly from the Employer Directory. This field replaces the prior standalone judge entry method and ensures consistency across the platform. Approved judge employers now appear as autocomplete suggestions as users enter a judge value. New judge values submitted by students via a clerkship outcome survey will come in as a pending employer.
The Court field is now a manageable picklist. Court picklist values appear as autocomplete suggestions as users enter a court value. New judge values submitted by students and admins via a clerkship outcome survey are automatically added to your Court picklist. To manage Court values, navigate to the Picklists tab of the Outcome Survey site settings page.
Clerkship & Interview Evaluations
Evaluations for judges are now accessible through the Evaluations tab on a judge’s employer profile.
This tab displays evaluations for a judge, along with the option to add new ones using the + Add Clerkship Evaluation and + Add Interview Evaluation buttons.
Configuring Evaluation Forms
To configure the questions for clerkship and interview evaluations:
Navigate to Site Management > Site Settings > Clerkship Evaluations > Select the form you'd like to configure (Clerkship or Interview) > Add/Edit the attributes desired

Global Judge Employers
12twenty manages U.S. federal judges as global employers. To access these records, navigate to the Global Employer Directory. From here, use the Employer Type filter to find judge profiles. Use the "Add to my site instance" button to add judges to your Employer Directory, or multi-select employers and use the ellipses menu to bulk add judges to your Employer Directory. Judges added to your Employer Directory are linked and auto-synced with the global employer, so updates 12twenty makes to global judge profiles will now automatically display in your Employer Directory.
