Contact Upload and Update Tool

This article will introduce you to the Contact Upload & Update Tool, which allows admin users to upload new contacts or update existing contacts in bulk.

Contact Required Fields

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email Address
  • Employer Name
  • Visibility (this is a picklist value that must be copied exactly)
    • Options for Visibility include:
      • Myself, all career advisers, and all students
      • Myself and all career advisers
      • Myself Only

 

 

How to Update Existing Contacts

  1. Navigate to the Data Upload Tools page by selecting Site Management, then Data Uploads

  2. Select the Download CSV Template drop-down, then select Contacts


  3. Add your data into the template, making sure to leave the column headers unchanged. The unique identifier used in the Contact Upload & Update Tool is Email Address.

  4. Save the template file. Be sure to keep the CSV file format

  5. Upload the document by selecting + New Upload on the Data Upload Tools page, select Contacts for Type, and select Update Existing for Upload Method


  6. Once the data uploads it will be tagged as either Success or Invalid


 

How to Upload New Contacts

  1. Navigate to the Data Upload Tools page by selecting Site Management, then Data Uploads

  2. Select the Download CSV Template drop-down, then select Contacts


  3. Add your data into the template, making sure to leave the column headers unchanged. The unique identifier used in the Contact Upload & Update Tool is Email Address.

  4. Save the template file. Be sure to keep the CSV file format. 

  5. Upload the document by selecting + New Upload on the Data Upload Tools page, selecting Contacts for Type, and selecting Add New for Upload Method.

  6. Once the data uploads it will be tagged as either Success or Invalid


NoteAll successful, pending, and invalid uploads are added to a list of data uploads, with the status showing in the Status column. If the upload is Invalid, select the specific upload to view further details on the errors that need to be corrected.

 

You will be directed to that upload and the errors will appear under the errors column. To simplify the view you can select the “Hide rows without errors” option.
