Reporting Site Settings
Check or clear these three settings to control how your final tables calculate data. You can find out more about these Site Settings here:
- Reporting Options for Unreported Search Intentions: A student might not tell you if they are looking for a job. If so, choose where the system puts them. You can default them to Unreported Search Intentions or Seeking Employment.
-
Include Rumor Jobs In Reporting: Choose if second-hand or unverified "Rumor" jobs added by admins show up on your tables.
⚠️ Audit Tip: Leave this unchecked so only verified data changes your numbers. - Include Unapproved Jobs in Reporting: Choose how your approval queue affects your reports. If checked, unapproved job records automatically count toward your official tables. If unchecked, the platform ignores unapproved records, and you must manually approve them first for them to count.
Education Picklist & Program Mapping
-
Program Picklist: Go to the Student and Alumni Tab. Find the Program picklist and check your active tracks to ensure they map the Program Type to its exact CSEA report structure:
- Full-Time MBA Programs: Map Program Type directly to Full-Time MBA.
- Full-Time Specialty Master's Programs: Map Program Type directly to Masters.
- Part-Time Cohorts (Both MBA and MS Tracks): Map Program Type directly to Part-Time MBA.
-
Program Delivery Modality: Set the Program Delivery Type field by choosing In-Person, Online, or Hybrid.
CSEA Database Upload Rule: After your data collection period ends, you are required to upload your Graduating Class Profile data to the master CSEA database for aggregate reporting. When you upload, CSEA lets you choose whether to submit an entire academic program together (for example, grouping all MS Finance students) or split them up separately by modality (indicating which rows are in-person, hybrid, or online). If your school plans to submit separate reports by modality, you must ensure this field is filled out accurately on your student profiles. - Graduation Terms and Dates: Go to Site Settings > Graduation Terms. Check that all active term dates fit perfectly inside the official CSEA academic year. By default, the total graduating class is defined as all students graduating during the 12 months beginning July 1st and ending June 30th. This rule is incredibly important if your school has multiple graduation dates throughout the year, as the CSEA reporting year might look completely different from your institutional fiscal year.
-
The One-Month Flex Exception: If your school has unique or shifting graduation dates—such as a summer class that finishes a few weeks around the June 30th cutoff and changes slightly every year—CSEA allows an exception. You may shift your 12-month window by one month before or after the standard definition (using the 12 months ending May 30th or July 30th).
⚠️ Audit Requirement: If you use this one-month flex exception, your chosen date window must remain completely consistent from year to year, and you must include a footnote on your final report explaining exactly why your graduating class definition differs from the standard CSEA window.
Industry, Function, & Job Source Mapping
How Mapping Works: You do not need a strict one-to-one match. Use your own school specific terms on surveys and link multiple options directly to a single CSEA reporting variable behind the scenes:
- Consolidated Industry Picklist: Go to the Student and Alumni Tab. For Full-Time MBA tables, map the Standard Reporting Industry field to its CSEA value. For Part-Time and Specialty Master's tables, map the Standard Reporting Part-Time/Specialty Masters Industry field.
- Consolidated Job Function Picklist: Go to the Student and Alumni Tab. For Full-Time MBA tables, map the Standard Reporting Function field to its CSEA value. For Part-Time and Specialty Master's tables, map the Standard Reporting Part-Time/Specialty Masters Function field.
-
Custom Job Source Picklist: Go to the Outcome Survey tab. Click edit on each tracking source to match system options:
- Map every item to Consolidated Job Source to keep baseline platform operations running smoothly.
- Map entries used by Full-Time MBA and Full-Time MS cohorts to Reporting Job Source.
- Map entries used by Part-Time MBA and Part-Time MS cohorts to MBACSEA Part-Time Job Source.
Undergraduate Majors Mapping
Click edit on your school's custom majors. Map them to these three standard system options at the same time:
- Consolidated Undergrad Major: Groups items to keep everyday student records clean and organized.
- Consolidated Undergrad Major MBA Csc: Runs the academic background sections on standard reports.
- Core Major/Academic Program: Makes sure student disciplines line up correctly for detailed compliance matching.
