Experiential Learning Site Settings: Documents and Forms

In the Experiential Learning module, Documents allow you to upload customizable content for students to read, fill out, or submit. Career centers have used Documents to create contracts, approval forms, or space for students to upload resumes for the Experiential Learning record. To create new Document types, navigate to Site Settings > Experiential Learning and scroll down to Documents and Forms. When you create a new Document, you'll be prompted to give the new Document a name and to select a visibility. There is an optional document upload that would allow you to add a PDF or other file to the Document Type (if, for example, you wanted students to read and sign an agreement form).

Note that Documents are tied to Experiential Learning Type, so you'll need configure Documents for each specific type. To learn more about Experiential Learning Types, navigate to this article on Experiential Learning Site Settings

Unlike Documents, which allow administrators and students to download/upload custom files, the Forms in Experiential Learning are fillable fields within the site that serve as student and employer surveys that you can build with customized questions. Forms are used for two surveys: the Employer Evaluation of the Student and the Student Evaluation of the Employer. To configure or update these surveys, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Experiential Learning Site Settings: Attributes and Picklists

While Attributes and Picklists are covered more generally in this training, there are two unique customizations within Attribute and Picklists to highlight specifically within Experiential Learning:

  • The Experience Type picklist needs to be configured before you can customize the module. Read this article about customizing this picklist within the Experiential Learning Site Settings.
  • When you create new Attributes in the Experiential Learning Site Settings, you'll see an additional field called "Type Association." This field will allow you to attach the new attribute you are creating to one, multiple, or all Experience Types within the Experiential Learning module.

  • In addition to Experience Type, you will see there are additional customizable Picklists in the Experiential Learning module: Academic Term and College. These picklists are also used to filter and sort experiences in the Experiential Learning module, so it is important to configure these picklists as well.
